Privacy Policy
Knot & Moss · Last updated 16 October 2026
Knot & Moss is a puzzle game made by Louis Martirossian ("we"). This policy explains what information the app uses and why. In short: there is no account, we don't ask for your name or email, and your puzzles, garden and settings stay on your device.
Information kept on your device
Your puzzle progress, garden, settings and the "minutes unwound this week" figure are stored only on your device. We cannot see them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Advertising
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier, your approximate location (from your IP address), information about how ads perform, and basic diagnostic data.
- On iPhone, the app asks whether it may track you. If you choose not to allow it, Google does not receive your advertising identifier and you see non-personalised ads.
- In the UK and the European Economic Area you are asked for consent first. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.
Google's use of this data is covered by its own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Purchases
If you buy Remove Ads, the payment is handled by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to confirm the purchase and restore it on your other devices. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history, not your payment details. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Usage statistics
We may collect anonymous usage events, such as puzzles solved, how long a session lasts and which ads were shown, to understand how the game is used and keep it calm. These are not linked to your name or contact details. When analytics are switched on, these events are processed for us by PostHog, an analytics service.
Notifications
Break reminders are off unless you turn them on. They are scheduled on your device; nothing is sent to us.
Children
Knot & Moss is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices and rights
You can turn off ad tracking in your device settings, change your ad consent in Settings → Privacy choices, remove ads with a purchase, and delete all on-device data by deleting the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal data held about you; contact us and we'll help.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and the policy in the app's store listing.
